New Camera is the Window into your Eye

You may have had your eyes dilated in the past. While somewhat inconvenient, dilation allows us to see the entire retina. Without dilation, our technology allows us to see about 30 degrees, or the central retina.

We have searched to bring Davis EyeCare unique technologies such as the amazing new instrument, the Topcon TRC - NW/GS Retinal Imaging System. This instrument "images" 85 degrees of the retina without dilation! These retinal images can then be stored in a computer and used year after year for comparison as well as placing the photomap picture in your file.

By imaging the full retina, we are better able to watch for signs of diabetes, hypertension, retinal detachments, retinal tears, and even brain tumors! It goes without saying we still look for cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration.

The camera features eight peripheral fixation points as well as a built-in standard central fixation point, which provide fixed, reproducible fields for use in diabetic, hypertension, glaucoma, side effects from systemic medications and other retinal disease protocols.
