Our Practice

Davis EyeCare is one of the largest professional contact lens practices in the country. We have two simple goals - treat vision-related problems and advance the science of eyecare. To achieve these goals, Davis EyeCare centers its activities in three areas, Clinical Practice - Eye Research - and Vision Education. The practice of Davis EyeCare evolved out of the fifty year commitment of Dr. Harold E. Davis to his patients and later joined by his son Dr. Robert L. Davis to continue that same mission. These practitioners brought a new approach to the practice of eyecare called "Group Practice". The strength of this concept is the knowledge and experiences of different practitioners being brought together to problem solve the patient’s complaint. Today, the teamwork is assisted by many support technicians who aid in the care of their patients. Patient education is one of the services we offer at each eye examination. Patients should expect that we diagnose and treat their medical eye condition, as well as provide a source of information about new developments in the eyecare field. Davis EyeCare has been on the cutting edge of development and has evaluated many important new contact lens designs and novel eyecare technologies. There is always something new at Davis EyeCare. Whether your prescription is for astigmatism, bifocals or just a simple case of myopia or hyperopia, Davis EyeCare can make the difference. This reputation of expert diagnostic ability, creative design and quality eyecare has drawn people throughout the United States. Harold E Davis OD., FAAO is past president of the International Society of Contact Lens Specialist, a distinguished practitioner in the National Academy of Practice which is one of the most prestigious academies a health care practitioner can be admitted. Dr Davis was just recently awarded the Lifetime achievement award from the Illinois College of Optometry.

Robert L Davis OD., FAAO has spent time on both the Research/Development as well as the Clinical aspect of vision care. Dr. Davis has developed many contact lens designs as well as contact lens patents. Dr Davis is past chair of the Contact Lens and Corneal section of the American Optometric Association and serves on the Industrial relations committee of the American Optometric Association. He is a Fellow and Diplomate of the American Academy of Optometry as well as serving as subchair of the membership renewal committee. He has served on the editorial boards of Optometric Management magazine and School Nurse News. . Presently he has received an unrestricted grant in researching, “Stabilizing Myopia by Accelerating Reshaping Technique”, The SMART Study. He also is working on two additional patents for treating patients requiring bifocal modalities.

Brad Cogswell OD has specialized in diagnosis and treatment of retinal disease and glaucoma. His redsidency was performed at the Florida VA medical center in St. Petersburg. His knowedge and expertise enables Davis Eyecare to offer additional services to our clinic.

When you first call or visit Davis EyeCare you will be greeted by our friendly, caring receptionists. Kim is our team leader in the reception area, and always has a smile. Marie, Monica and Bridget will be more than happy to help you make an appointment, order your contacts, or direct your call.

If there is a question regarding medical billing, referral, office procedure or patient satisfaction, Lin will most likely have the answer. As our office manager, she is our number one problem solver, and is glad to help.

If you have questions regarding insurance, we will most likely direct you to Richard. His knowledge of the different types of insurance is instrumental in getting you the service you need. Richard will be happy to get you the most benefits out of your insurance plans. Jason will be more than happy to help you choose a fashionable frame from our vast selection of contemporary frames and lenses. If you have any problems with the fabrication of you eyewear Lee will be happy to adjust your frames or problem solve your difficulty.

If you are looking for contacts, Jean will order your lenses and tract them until they reach the office. Jean is our contact lens lab technician. She will process the orders, inspect the quality of the lenses and will clean, polish and fabricate your Gas Permeable your lenses. Her goal for all contact lens wearers is to attain maximum comfort and optimal vision.

When you are having your exam, you will be managed by our doctor’s assistants. Our assistant’s sole purpose is the professional care and treatment of our patients. Fawn our assistant’s team leader. Her knowledge and experience is essential in achieving patient satisfaction. She has been recently recognized by the American Optometric Association. Linda will make your visit comfortable and is our resident visual training specialist. Cecilia’s cheerful and playful demeanor will put a smile on your face. She can translate various languages into a meaningful examination.
